At Wembley Primary School, we are dedicated to promoting the physical, mental and social well-being of our pupils through a comprehensive and inclusive physcal education programme, in line with the National Curriculum. As a school, we share the vision that Physical Education is not only important for children's physical health but also for their mental health. Our intent is to provide a supportive and engaging environment that fosters a lifelong love for physical activity, promotes healthy habits, develops motor skills, cultivates sportsmanship and teamwork and encourages personal growth and self-confidence.

The main scheme we follow is Real PE, which covers all aspects of the national curriculum. The main focuses are;
Skill Development:
Structured lessons and activities that focus on developing and refining motor skills, coordination, balance, and spatial awareness for our pupils at Wembley Primary School.
Fitness and Health Education:
Educating pupils about the importance of physical fitness and healthy lifestyle choices through age-appropriate discussions and demonstrations.
Sportsmanship and Teamwork:
Emphasising fair play, cooperation, and respect for teammates, opponents, and officials, fostering a positive and inclusive sports culture.
Inclusion and Adaptation:
Modifying activities to ensure that pupils of all abilities at Wembley Primary School can participate fully and experience success in physical education.
Assessment and Feedback:
Regularly assessing students' progress and providing constructive feedback to support their individual growth and motivate them to set and achieve personal goals.

By implementing our comprehensive physical education programme, we aim to have a positive impact on the overall development and well-being of our pupils at Wembley Primary School. We envision the following outcomes:
1. Improved Physical Fitness:
Pupils will enhance their cardiovascular endurance, strength, flexibility, and overall fitness levels through regular participation in a variety of physical activities.
2. Acquisition of Motor Skills:
Pupils will develop and refine fundamental movement skills, which will serve as a foundation for their engagement in various sports and physical activities throughout their lives.
3. Healthy Lifestyle Choices:
Pupils will gain knowledge and understanding of the benefits of a healthy lifestyle, including regular exercise, proper nutrition, and adequate rest, leading to improved overall health and well-being.
4. Social and Emotional Growth:
Engaging in team sports and cooperative activities will help pupils to develop social skills, such as effective communication, collaboration, leadership, and empathy, fostering positive relationships with their peers.
5. Self-Confidence and Personal Growth:
By setting and achieving personal goals, pupils will experience a sense of accomplishment, boosting their self-confidence and motivation to further engage in physical activity.
6. Inclusive Environment:
We will create an inclusive and supportive environment that celebrates diversity, respects individual differences, and provides equal opportunities for all students to participate and succeed.

Through our intent, implementation, and desired impact, we are committed to equipping our students with the knowledge, skills, and positive attitudes necessary for a lifetime of active and healthy living.
