Headteacher Update 18th September

Wembley Crest

18th September 2020

Dear Parents/Carers,
I wanted to write to thank you for all your support and patience over the past couple of weeks whilst we introduced new systems across the school. Our families are now clearly familiar with our new way of doing things.

From Monday the school gates will close at 9am (rather than 9.10am). The reason for shortening the start time of the day is because only a few families arrive after 9am. The change of time will allow teachers to complete registers by 9am and start the main learning earlier.

I also wanted to remind families of the symptoms of COVID-19. If you or your household family have any of these symptoms you must all self-isolate and book a Covid-19 test.
• A new and persistent cough
• A high temperature
• A loss of or change in, their normal sense of taste or smell

Children will continue to get colds. If they are feeling well enough to come into school they should be at school. Children have missed more than a term of being at school, so we now want to ensure that they are at school as much as is possible. If you are unsure whether to send your child to school please contact the office.

Finally, I wanted to congratulate the children on their transition back into learning in classrooms. Their behaviour has been exemplary. In fact, a Brent School Music teacher, who is new to Wembley Primary, commented positively on the children’s behaviour for learning this week.

If you have any concerns, questions etc I am on the main gate both at the start and the end of the day.

Mrs Taylor-Kent
