I would like to wish all our families a Happy New Year.
Unfortunately, we have not had the best news for the start of the New Year. Following Government advice, all primary schools in Brent must close to most children. We are only able to remain open for children of critical workers and vulnerable children. We have been informed that this will be reviewed by the government by the 18th January.
Remote Learning will be provided for children from the start of term, Tuesday 5th January. Teaching and learning will be accessed by children through Google Classroom. Every morning there will be a live registration session, the expectation is that all children attend this session. These sessions are an opportunity to welcome the children, explain the timetable for the day and answer any questions. Details of these sessions will be posted by the teacher on Google Classroom. There will also be teaching sessions through the day that children must access to support their learning.
The class teacher will expect some tasks to be completed by children on Google Classroom, for them to provide feedback. The teacher will inform their class of which tasks they will need to upload. If your child has any difficulties accessing Google Classroom, please email email@example.com and a member of staff will get back to you. Can I also remind parents that it is so important that children continue to read during this period. Online books will be assigned to all children through our Bug Club site.
If you are a critical worker (please see the list on Gov.uk) and would like a school place during this period please email firstname.lastname@example.org by Monday 4th January 11am. Please state your job role, your company or organisation name, your child’s name and class and if you wish to access the provision everyday-Monday to Friday. We aim to open this provision from Tuesday 5th January.
In addition, children with an EHCP are expected to attend school during this period. Please confirm your intention for your child to attend school during this period as soon as possible through our email address email@example.com
If your family is eligible for free school meals (not universal free school meals reception to year 2) we will be providing hampers. These hampers contain enough food for lunches for a week. The office staff will contact families to check if they would like to pick one up from school.
Throughout this period, we will be available and can be contacted by phone or email. The office will be open every day from 8.30am to 4pm.
I hope that everyone is able to return to school after this period.
