Reopening letter - Headteacher

13th May 2020
Dear Parents/Carers,
I hope that you are all keeping safe and well.

I am sure that you are aware of the Prime Minister’s announcement on Sunday that there should be a phased return of some children to school from the 1st June. (If the country moves safely to the next stage). The year groups nationally agreed to start first are Year 6, Year 1, Reception and Nursery.

I have been working closely with the Senior Leadership Team over the last few days to carefully prepare for the return of specific year groups. In particular, to complete risk assessments so that sensible measures can be put in place to control the risks for children and staff.

We are currently working on the final details and we will be posting information on our website next week. We will also be contacting parents through text messages/emails. It is important that parents understand that not all of these year groups will start on 1st June, there will be a staggered opening over a couple of weeks. In addition, SLT are looking at measures for how we keep class sizes small (no more than 15).

Provision for key/critical workers will continue.

I know that this is such a worrying time for families. I can assure you that we are very carefully planning the next steps; I will keep you well informed at each and every stage.

Take care,
Mrs Taylor-Kent
